The Royal Buna Ethiopian Jimma Coffee comes to us from the birthplace of coffee, Jimma, Ethiopia. Jimma of great renown, is one of Ethiopia's major coffee growing regions and origin to the best ethiopian coffee.
This specialty coffee or Buna is strong. While at the same time brings a sweet, clean and rich ethiopian coffee taste. The fragrance has mild fruited hints, apple and peach pastry, with hazelnuts and a hint of honey.
The coffee cherries are spread out in the sun, on large raised matting beds 3 ft above the ground. As the cherries dry, they are turned by hand to ensure even drying and prevent mildew.
During the day the cherries are exposed to the sun and covered at night. It may take up to 4 weeks before the cherries are dried at the optimum moisture content, depending on weather conditions.
The process is also known as the natural method. It produces coffee that is heavier in body and sweeter.
